This ride is pretty urban early on through S San Jose the down Santa Teresa and up Bailey, back towards Harry Rd then left to New Almaden, (start climbing) up and over S Hicks and back to Mikes over Kennedy and through the LG Hood.  I won’t be pushing the pace, meaning just a steady pace on the flats and as easy as possible up S Hicks and Kennedy.  We’ll regroup at the hilltops, and we’d better fill up water at Calero in case the water situation at New Almaden is no good.

Thing about this loop is if anyone wants to warm up good then veer and and get their climb on, you can deviate from the route 30 miles in and ascend/descend Mt Umunhum and then rejoin the route back.  The Same is true at 39 miles where you can turn left and go up Cypress and if you dare then stay left at the Maya / Blackberry split and ascend Blackberry Hill, then descend and rejoin the route.  The official group ride won’t do Umunhum or Cypress/BlackBerry but I’m just saying you can ride with us then go climbing.  If anyone’s up for it let’s stop at Cafe Dio next to LG H.S. on Main for some smokin’ Verve coffee and pastries/cookies etc.

There are at least 4 places we can stop for bathrooms, 2 of them have water for sure, maybe 3 (New Almaden water situation was sketch last time I tried to refill there).
